Family Promise provides professional case management as well as food, shelter, and transportation for qualified homeless families as they work to restore their independence. Family Promise is one of only two agencies in Raleigh committed to helping homeless families with children stay together. This is accomplished in partnership with over 30 churches in Wake County. TBC became a part of this network in July 2005. We are assigned 1 host week two to three times each year during which time Family Promise “guests” make TBC their home from 5:30 each evening to 6:30 the next morning.
Trinity’s Family Promise Lead Team and volunteers help in a variety of areas including setting up and taking down the Family Promise living area (den, eating area and six bedrooms) before and after each week; staying overnight as host/hostess with the guest families; driving the Family Promise van to transport families to and from the Family Promise Day Center in the mornings and evenings; providing hot evening meals; and spending time with the children in the evenings to give parents a break. There are volunteer opportunities for individuals, families, Sunday School classes, and other groups in the church.
