I Almost Missed the Best Trip Yet!
A Reflection on the Kentucky Mission Trip by Pam Sambola
This was my third time serving in Kentucky, and it has been
the most diverse and the most meaningful experience for me in so many ways.
A Week of Diverse Ministry
This week we ministered to people with special needs, seniors, the general population, and the community at large.
I loved the diversity of the different groups and the activities offered
games and crafts, bingo and care walks, food and fellowship.
The love of Jesus was felt and seen as we worked and served, prayed and shared, laughed and cried with strangers and friends.
The Lord’s Café: A Beacon of Hope
The Lord’s Café is truly a beacon of hope and a place of refuge
and at the center of it all are relationships.
My Baltimore pastor used to say:
“It’s all about relationships, or it ain’t about nothing!”
He was stressing not only our relationships with other people but also our relationship with the Lord.
Of all the offerings of The Lord’s Café, Crossroads Baptist Church, and The Lighthouse Community, the heart of it all is forging loving relationships with people while deepening our relationship with God.
Continuing the Work Through Prayer
Our prayers and support are needed so that God will continue to supply the needs of this dynamic ministry.
May the Lord keep providing what they need so they can continue offering hope, love, and refuge as they pour themselves out for this community.
“It’s all about relationships.” That truth was lived out in Kentucky,
and it continues to shape the mission God has called us to
both here at home and across the nation.
