Summer Camp Reflections

From bows… to boxes… to best friends—TBC Summer Camp was filled with adventure, laughter, and friendships! Every day brought new energy and joy as children discovered fresh experiences, built lasting memories, and found a community where they could be themselves.

Over the course of seven incredible weeks, more than 40 children filled our church with excitement. From the first day jitters to the final day smiles, I watched friendships blossom, skills grow, and confidence shine. We had crafts that stretched creativity, games that sparked laughter, and activities that challenged each child in different ways.

Thankful for Our Counselors

I am especially thankful for our camp counselors. Their dedication, patience, and joyful spirits made this summer what it was. They showed up day after day, pouring their hearts into each child, ensuring that every camper felt seen, valued, and included.

Camp doesn’t just “happen” it takes planning, commitment, and a team that cares deeply about kids. I could not be more grateful for the group of leaders who worked alongside me to make camp a place where adventure met encouragement.

Why Camp Matters

A child’s camp experience is more than just keeping them busy during the summer. For many children, this is where they try something new for the very first time—whether it’s learning a skill, making a craft, or discovering the joy of team play. It’s also where they revisit things they know and love, finding comfort in the familiar while embracing the new.

These moments shape them in ways that reach far beyond a single summer. Camp helps build resilience, confidence, and friendships that children carry with them into the school year and beyond.

Growing Together

For me personally, it is such a blessing to walk alongside these young children year after year. Watching them return each summer a little taller, a little braver, and a little more eager to jump into the fun is a joy I can’t describe.

I am blessed not only to love these children but to grow with them through the summers we share. Camp is as much about relationships as it is about activities—it’s about planting seeds of faith, nurturing curiosity, and showing God’s love in both big and small ways.

Looking Ahead

This year’s camp has reminded me once again why I love what I do. The laughter of children, the bonds of friendship, the energy of counselors, and the presence of God’s Spirit all came together to make TBC Summer Camp a place of joy and growth.

As we look toward the future, I can’t wait to see how these children continue to grow and how camp will shape the next generation of leaders, friends, and followers of Christ.

A Final Word

Summer Camp is more than just a program, it’s a ministry. It’s where fun meets faith, and where simple moments of joy can turn into lifelong memories. I am so thankful for the opportunity to be part of it.
