Building More Than Homes: Trinity Baptist Partners with Habitat for Humanity

by | Aug 6, 2025 | Churchwide, Missions

What happens when fourteen volunteers, cooler-than-usual August weather, and the love of Christ come together on a build site? Something holy.

“Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.” For forty years, Habitat for Humanity has lived into their mission well by helping others to experience God’s kingdom on earth as it is in heaven. Since 1985, over 962 safe, affordable, energy efficient homes have been built in Wake and Johnston Counties. Trinity Baptist Church is blessed to be a part of this important work.

Through the missions portion of the church budget, Trinity Baptist sent $10,000 to support the work of Habitat Wake in 2025. Trinity also sent two teams to work at the Habitat Wake Beloved Build in the Old Poole Place neighborhood in southeast Raleigh; one on July 12, the other on August 2. The Habitat Wake Beloved Build is made up of 8 faith coalitions consisting of 106 congregations. Trinity is part of the Baptist Coalition, which is made up of 17 Baptist churches.

On Saturday, August 2, fourteen from Trinity Baptist gathered at Old Poole Place to participate in the Beloved Build. After gathering for an information and safety meeting, we broke up into groups. Some set walls in place for the houses being constructed. Some placed vinyl siding on houses that were being constructed. Some framed windows on the faces of townhomes. Some placed shelving in a Habitat trailer. Some did other work. But all had a great time.

We were blessed by the lunch served to us by TBC Cares, which is part of the Mission Ministry of Trinity – Thank you Brenda & Hal Lowrance. We were blessed by the cooler than normal weather and overcast skies. We were blessed to deepen relationships with one another and make new friends from other communities of faith. We were

blessed by the leadership of Jen Hall who coordinates our Habitat for Humanity work. We were blessed by serving the Lord through our service to others. Undoubtedly, God was pleased with our work.

Thank you, Trinity Baptist Church, for supporting Habitat for Humanity. I hope more of you will join us for next year’s Beloved Build.
