A Summer of Mission Excellence at Trinity
At Trinity, one of our Core Values is Missions.
Our statement reads:
“Trinity Baptist Church values active participation in sharing the love of God through Christ with the world. We value the spoken witness, the witness through creative arts, and the witness of the work of our hands.”
Summer is a time when we at Trinity have a special focus on missions. Our youth are on mission trips, our Vacation Bible School includes a mission component, and there are many adult opportunities to give, go, and serve. (You’ll find out more about these opportunities in other articles in this newsletter.)
Recently, I had the honor of receiving the “Excellence in Missions” award from CBF Global on behalf of our congregation. Each year, CBF recognizes churches that are excelling in mission involvement—and this year, Trinity was selected for recognition.
Though I accepted the award, the recognition truly belongs to you.
As a congregation, you continue to give sacrificially, go constantly, and work with persistence on behalf of those Jesus has sent us to serve. I am very proud to be your pastor. I am also proud that, as a congregation, we are always open to new opportunities that the Spirit of God brings our way. It is your faithfulness, flexibility, and willingness to follow the Spirit that makes you a congregation of true mission excellence.
I want to personally thank our Mission Steering Committee, each leader of mission lead teams, and every individual who gives, prays, and goes.
Supporting Missions Through Your Giving
Let me also remind you that through your tithes and offerings to Trinity Baptist Church, you are supporting a wide array of mission partners. Your generosity touches lives in Raleigh, across North Carolina, and around the world.
We cooperate with:
- CBF of North Carolina
- The Baptist State Convention of North Carolina
- N.C. Baptists on Mission
- Raleigh Baptist Association
- As well as numerous local community partners
In addition, your giving helps send Trinity members on mission—both locally and globally. At Trinity, we forward 5% of all undesignated gifts to our cooperative mission partners. This is part of our commitment to mission work that extends beyond our own walls.
Understanding Our Four Cooperative Giving Plans
When you give, you can choose how your gifts support missions. Trinity offers four cooperative giving plans:
Plan 1 – Baptist State Convention of North Carolina
(All funds remain in North Carolina)
Plan 2 – Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of North Carolina
(All funds are sent to CBFNC, and a percentage is forwarded to CBF Global through the CBFNC budget)
Plan 3 – Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of N.C. and Baptist State Convention of N.C.
(Your gifts are divided equally between the two partners)
Plan 4 – Trinity Only
(If you choose this plan, your gifts are not included in our cooperative giving. However, you still support many mission partners through the Mission Steering Committee’s budget.)
This year, the mission portion of our Trinity budget is $119,490.
Please remember: If you do not select a plan, your gifts are divided by a percentage determined by those who do choose a plan.
To choose a plan, you can mark your envelope or contact Jan Brown in the church office, and she’ll be happy to help you make the designation.
A Grateful Word to Our Congregation
Thank you, Trinity family—for giving, praying, and going. You are making a difference in so many lives. Your love, sacrifice, and commitment to being the hands and feet of Christ are shining examples of what it means to live on mission.
With a grateful heart,
Dr. Jeff Roberts
