Home Missions Offering

by | Mar 10, 2026 | Trinity Times

During the Lenten Season, we reflect on Christ’s call to share the good news with all people. Trinity participates in missions locally, nationally, and around the world through partnerships, giving, and prayer as we support missionaries and ministry efforts across North America.

Sharing the Good News During the Lenten Season

During the Lenten Season, we not only spend time reflecting on our own spiritual journey but also upon the great proclamation that Christ died for all people. During this season, we are reminded that we are called to share the good news of Jesus with all people. When Jesus sent the disciples into the world in Acts 1:8, Jesus said you shall be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.

At Trinity our mission model has been to model this commission by Jesus. Trinity members are involved in missions in our community (Jerusalem) our state and nation (Judea and Samaria) and around the world. At Trinity we are not only going but we also give to help others follow God’s call upon their lives. We understand that the Great Commission of Jesus can only be fulfilled when we go and cooperate with others through our giving.

Missions Across North America

At this time of year, we turn our attention to the needs of North America as we collect our Home Missions Offering. We cooperate with the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship and with the North American Mission Board in sharing the good news of Jesus in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, Guam, and Virgin Islands.

Through both of our mission partners we are planting churches, ministering to college students, supporting chaplains, establishing language congregations, and ministering to some of the most impoverished people here in our own nation.

Our Partnership in Kentucky

Our own Kentucky Mission work in McCreary County KY, began as a mission emphasis through the CBF to minister to the poorest 20 counties in America for 20 years. Our commitment to our work in Kentucky has lasted beyond that 20-year commitment but it began through the funding of CBF missionary partners and continues today through partnership with the Kentucky Baptist Convention supported by the North American Mission Board.

This is just one example of how through cooperation and partnerships lives are being changed.

How You Can Participate

I encourage you to give toward our goal of $32,123 this year. You can give through your offering envelopes, envelopes in the pews or online. (Gifts made to this mission offering are divided equally between our two mission partners unless otherwise designated.)

Your gift supports Holy Conversations in North America. Whether you give or not, please pray for our missionaries as they share the good news of Jesus in word and deed.
