On Sunday, August 24, Dr. Jeff Roberts concluded our summer series Vacation Spots of the Old Testament with a message titled “A Place Called Regret.” Preaching from Psalm 137, he reminded us that God’s people, carried into exile, sat down by the rivers of Babylon and hung up their harps — choosing nostalgia, apathy, and bitterness instead of faith. The question they asked is the same question we still wrestle with today: How do we praise God when life doesn’t make sense? The answer of faith is simple, but not easy: sing anyway. If you’ve ever felt like giving up, this message is for you.
