Being a church that has focused on missions over its 70 years, Trinity and other neighboring churches had a vision of coming together to serve our community. Out of that vision and discussion came the formation of North Raleigh Ministries.
Originally, NRM distributed food to those in need and provided some financial assistance. As NRM has grown and developed over the past 22 years, it now continues to help those with food insecurity and provides coaching programs for families in our community to move from crisis to stability. During the first quarter of this year, we had 35 clients successfully complete a coaching program and 12 completed Grocery Support. This is a 21% increase over last year.
Our recent Journey Graduation included 18 families, 11 English-speaking and 7 Spanish-speaking. NRM has one of the few Spanish-speaking programs available. We served 1,094 individuals in the food pantry this first quarter and provided 210 students with Healthy Kids bags.
One of our NRM clients recently wrote a letter to the staff after completing three NRM programs. They highlighted their positive experiences with learning to budget and have a debt-free goal for December of 2026. They also shared how they felt empowered in their job search through coaching, accountability, and goal-setting, which has given them hope and motivated them towards self-sufficiency.
Join us in our 70th Anniversary “Stock the Truck” Food Drive on May 3rd. Bring your donations of Cereal, Peanut Butter, and Pasta Sauces to church on Anniversary Sunday. The truck will be parked in front of the Sanctuary for your donations. Help us stock the pantry for our neighbors in need.
