Randy’s Reflections: A Season Full of Mission at Trinity
“I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
— Philippians 1:3–6
At the close of every Missions Steering Committee meeting, there’s a spot on the agenda called the “Pastor’s Minute.” Now, if we’re being honest, it’s rarely just a minute—it’s more of a meaningful moment. Lately, I’ve been using this time to share with the committee all that Trinity has done in missions over the past month, while also looking ahead to what’s coming up. This “moment” has become something special—a time to celebrate the good work already done and pray for what’s ahead. And let me tell you, June was a busy and beautiful month for Trinity Baptist Church!
A Look Back: Mission Highlights from June
God has been at work through so many in our church family. Just look at what happened in June:
- Men’s Ministry Road Cleanup
After a hearty breakfast and an inspiring word from Pat Teague, our Men’s Ministry rolled up their sleeves to clean our assigned stretch of Six Forks Road.
- Disaster Relief in Boone
A disaster relief team from Trinity spent a full week in Boone, NC, helping repair homes damaged by Hurricane Helene.
- VBS Mission Giving
Our Vacation Bible School participants raised money and collected essential items for Asheville Buncombe Community Christian Ministry—another step in supporting hurricane relief efforts.
- High School Mission Trip to Denver
Our high schoolers and their adult leaders spent a week in Denver, Colorado, engaging in mission experiences and sharing Christ’s love.
- Scouting Future Missions in Kenya
Holly Shaw and Robin Roberts spent a week in Nairobi, Kenya with Orbit Village, exploring future mission opportunities for Trinity.
- TBC Cares at Capital Towers
We held a vesper service and shared supper with our neighbors at Capital Towers, continuing our commitment to local relational ministry.
- Meal Ministry at Truett Camp
A dedicated team spent a week at Truett Camp & Conference Center in Hayesville, NC, serving meals to youth attending summer camp.
- Women’s Ministry Luncheon
Our Women’s Ministry hosted a special lunch to learn about OneHope Refuge, an organization ministering to survivors of human trafficking.
And that doesn’t even cover the ongoing mission collections and service projects carried out by our Sunday School classes, small groups, and individual members—including work with the Raleigh Rescue Mission and North Raleigh Ministries.
It’s truly amazing. Every act of service, large or small, is worth celebrating.
What’s Next? July and August Mission Opportunities

The Spirit of Summer at Trinity
You know, for many churches, summer is a slow season—a time when things wind down. But not at Trinity Baptist. Here, summer is a season of increased activity, greater generosity, and deeper service.
All of this reflects what Paul wrote in Philippians:
God is doing a good work in and through you, and He’s not finished yet.
Missions remain a high priority at Trinity, and it shows. It’s the gospel in action—faith with feet. And it’s all evidence of God’s presence and purpose being fulfilled among us.
So, let’s stay joyful. Let’s stay prayerful. And let’s continue to walk faithfully together as partners in sharing the good news, both in word and deed.
A Final Word of Encouragement
If you’ve been wondering how, you can get more involved, there’s no shortage of opportunities. Whether you’re building a house, preparing a meal, praying for a missionary, or collecting food for a local pantry—your part matters. As you reflect on these mission moments, consider where God might be calling you next.
We don’t just do missions—we live them.
With gratitude and hope,
Pastor Randy
