Celebrating Our 1st Graders: A Milestone of Faith
Growing in Age and in Faith
At Trinity, we love celebrating the ways our children are growing—not only in age, but also in faith. This past Sunday morning, we had the joy of marking a special milestone in the lives of our 1st graders.
These children are no longer babies or preschoolers. They are going to school, learning to read and write, and beginning to discover how the world works. As a family of faith, we celebrate this important step by presenting them with a new Bible.
Receiving God’s Word
When they were younger, many received an infant Bible filled with child-friendly stories—introductions to God’s Word through creation, Jesus’ miracles, and God’s great love.
Today, we place the full Bible in their hands. Our prayer is that as they learn to read, they will discover the richness of Scripture, learn more about Christ’s plans for their lives, and most of all, fall in love with their Savior.
A Reminder for All of Us
This moment is a reminder to all of us: God’s Word is for children. It’s for families. It’s for every one of us. The Bible is not just for adults or for Sunday mornings—it is for every day of our lives.
Our Part as Parents and Church Family
We all play a part in this milestone.
Parents: As your children receive these Bibles, we pray that you will read with them, talk about what God says, and model what it looks like to love and live by His Word.
Church family: Let us surround these children with encouragement, prayer, and example—helping them treasure the Bible as God’s living Word.
Rejoicing in God’s Word
May we continue to rejoice in the gift of God’s Word—that it truly is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path.
“May the Word of God dwell richly in your hearts, guide your steps, and shape your lives. Amen.”
