On Sunday, July 19th, a small group from Trinity Baptist Church had the privilege of serving at Oak City Cares Day Center in downtown Raleigh. Oak City Cares is a safe place for those at risk of or experiencing homelessness. There, we helped serve lunch to approximately 350 men, women, and children in our community. In addition to the meal, we set up a distribution area filled with donations from our Trinity family, and we also had time to talk with and fellowship with the Oak City Cares guests, sharing encouragement and building meaningful connections.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our church, we collected and distributed approximately 80 rolling suitcases of all sizes, along with backpacks, summer hygiene bags, and special bags for children. Each suitcase included an encouraging Bible verse inside, offering a reminder of God’s love and hope. The children’s bags were individually handed out to each child by another child from Trinity and were filled with fun items such as sunglasses, glow sticks, squishy toys, and other goodies to brighten their day.

We are so grateful to everyone who donated supplies, packed bags, and volunteered their time. Your generosity allowed us to meet practical needs while sharing the love of Christ with our neighbors. Thank you for being the hands and feet of Jesus and making a difference in the lives of so many.

“In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:16
