Dr. Andy Jung
Minister in Residence, Young Adults
After a 9 year absence, Dr. Andy Jung returned to Trinity as the part-time Minister in Residence for Young Adults in 2023. As the MInister in Residence for Young Adults, Andy is focused on developing a healthy church culture for the next generations and equipping the church members to share in young adults’ lives.
Andy first came to Trinity in 2003 as the Minister of Students and Recreation. In 2006, he became the Associate Pastor of Students and Administration until he was called to be the senior pastor at First Baptist Church in Albemarle, NC.
Andy serves full-time as the Senior Director of Church Engagement and Business Administration at Fuller Youth Institute (FYI). At FYI, he focuses on developing relationships with church and denominational leaders across the country to share the research and resources on how to better welcome, engage, and retain youth and young adults in the church. In addition, Andy serves as the Youth Ministry Specialist at Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of North Carolina (CBFNC) as a contractor.
Andy was born in Seoul, South Korea and immigrated to Sanford, NC as a seven-year-old. He received a B.S. in Math Education from NC State University (‘96), a Master of Divinity from Campbell University Divinity School (‘10), and his Doctorate of Ministry from Fuller Theological Seminary (‘14).
Andy is married to Amy and they are passionate about ministering to young adults and helping them discover their identity in Jesus, sense of belonging in the church, and their purpose to serve God’s kingdom.
