Taylor is a native of College Station, Texas, and a graduate of Texas A&M University (B.S.). Sensing a call to ministry during her college years, Taylor attended Denver Seminary where she received her Master of Divinity with a focus on Chaplaincy. Following seminary, Taylor applied and was accepted into the Pastoral Chaplaincy program at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill. In 2022, while at UNC, Taylor became the Minister to Youth at Westwood Baptist Church in Cary. She currently serves full time in this position. While in college and seminary, Taylor worked in various settings including churches, youth camps and hospitals. She served on staff of two congregations in Colorado working in both the student and worship ministries of the church.

Taylor has a heart for adventure, creativity, and purpose-filled spiritual development of Christians. These values and passions have led her to called opportunities in service to North Carolina, Colorado, Texas, and the Dominican Republic.

Taylor has been married to her husband, Matt, for six years and they have a three-month-old son, Emmett. Also with a diverse vocational background, Matt currently serves as a seventh-grade science teacher and football coach. As a family, they enjoy trekking in nature, traveling, and being outside in general. Outside of her work, Taylor enjoys dabbling in nature photography, floral design, painting, kayaking, hiking, playing volleyball, and rock climbing.

Taylor’s gifts of creativity, relational ministry, counseling, music, local church experience and love for students and the church makes her uniquely gifted to be our next Associate Pastor for Student Ministry.
