For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives,so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God.
Colossians 1:9-10
As mature Christians, we are called to keep the faith. Trinity’s Senior Adult Ministry is full of active and vibrant seniors who are keeping the faith, building a legacy of faith to pass on, and caring deeply for those around them who are finishing the race. With day trips, week-long vacations, a choir, fitness classes, homebound visitations, Sunday School classes, and active participation in the whole life of the church, a senior can find a place to be nurtured and to nurture here at Trinity.
Senior-Sponsored Red Cross Blood Drive
The seniors of Trinity sponsor quarterly blood drives on Sunday mornings with the goal of supporting our local Red Cross blood bank to help save lives.
Shredding Community Outreach
The seniors of Trinity sponsor a FREE shredding event every year around tax time to allow the community to clean out papers for destruction. This annual event helps us to protect the valuable information of our friends and neighbors.
Senior Trips & Events
The senior adults of Trinity are very active and involved as they plan for fun and exciting day trips, events, and week-long adventures that foster community and fellowship. This year, you can find the seniors in Kentucky at The Ark Experience, at the Fruitcake Factory, eating at Ron’s Barn, and taking in exciting shows around town and throughout the state.
Thursday Senior Games & Fellowship
Seniors meet every Thursday, 1:00-3:00 to play games in Room A214. Each Thursday starts with a Devotion led by Anita Yeargin, Wynell Stines or Roy Holliday. We have 2-3 tables of Bridge Players and 1-2 tables of Chickenfoot Players. Each player puts $1.00 in a basket which is used to purchase great snacks, drinks, and paper products. The last Thursday of each Month we have a homemade cake from The Meadow Grill to celebrate birthdays for that month.
Senior Adult Primetimers Choir
If you enjoy music, this is the place for you. Our Seniors meet on Tuesday mornings at 10:00a.m. in B236. This choir leads periodically in our Sunday morning worship as well as at Heritage Day at Trinity, Friends’ Day, and occasionally at local retirement homes. A highlight each year is participating in the annual North Carolina Baptist Senior Adult Choir Festival.
Valentine’s Banquet
Each year, the young adults of Trinity honor the seniors with a fabulous Valentine’s banquet, which allows for inter-generational fun for an evening.
Friends’ Day
Every member of our church is a VIP. Each year, our senior adults get together to create a wonderful lunch and sing familiar hymns and gospel songs for our members who are no longer able to be in worship and Sunday school every week. We enjoy this time together recalling fond memories, honoring one another as brothers and sisters in Christ, and enjoying beautiful fellowship.
Senior Adult Ministry Scholarship
As our young people grow through children’s and student ministry here at Trinity, our seniors look forward to their graduation and pray for their transitions. In addition, the senior adult ministry sponsors one scholarship each year to one of our graduating high school seniors.
