Following natural disasters overseas, Trinity has responded directly and indirectly to assist those who know first hand what it is to be a victim of nature’s fury.

Belize – in partnership with the Belize Baptist Association, Trinity served in building a school in Santa Elena and continues to take part in continuing to support the education of children by sponsoring high school scholarships to two graduating students each year.  Medical/ Dental teams have provided care for residents, and children’s Vacation Bible School has served to nurture and encourage the children of Belize to grow in their faith while continuing to support the ministries of the local church.

Haiti “Buckets of Hope” – following the devastating earthquake in this poorest of western hemisphere countries, Trinity participated in a state-wide effort by Baptists to send sealed 5-gallon buckets of basic food items that could sustain a family for weeks.

Haiti Medical Assistance – one of our members, who is a nurse, has made two trips right after the earthquake to serve in a make-shift hospital set up by Duke University, and in relationship with ongoing medical ministries through NC Baptist Men.

Honduras – teams went to the area around Choluteca for six years after Hurricane Mitch left over 35,000 dead and set back the economy of the country 50 years. These teams constructed concrete block “pilas” (domestic water containers), churches and homes in addition to working with the children of the villages where the construction was taking place. The relationships built were truly meaningful, and each time we returned, we went to villages where we had served before to visit with our friends.

Iraqi Food Boxes – after the invasion of Iraq by US military forces, Trinity joined hundreds of NC Baptist churches in collecting, packaging and sending boxes of food for families who had lost their homes and livelihoods.

South Africa – teams have supported the vision of Door of Hope in Johannesburg as they work towards building the Door of Hope Village in order to provide more and more care in the face of the country’s abandoned children crisis.

South East Asia – teams have traveled to support missionary teams as they gather for annual meetings by providing children’s ministry and childcare for their incredible children.

Ukraine – dental teams have provided much needed care amongst the Roma population in Ukraine.
